Better Together: Generosity (11/13/2022)

2 Corinthians 9.6-8 
6 The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. 
Luke 17:11-19
11  On the way to Jerusalem Jesus  was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee.  12  As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance,  13  they called out, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"  14  When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were made clean.  15  Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.  16  He prostrated himself at Jesus'  feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan.  17  Then Jesus asked, "Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they?  18  Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"  19  Then he said to him, "Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well." 

Better Together: Forgiveness

Anyone who has lived in relationship with anyone for any period of time knows that there will come a time when you hurt one another. Forgiveness is what makes living in relationship with people possible.

There is a lot in our world that threatens to divide us. It has always been this way. But the way of Jesus is to bring those who should be far apart close together. 
In Christ, we are RECONCILED to one another. This is what holds our diverse church together and makes us one. 
Our MISSION is to make sure that EVERY PERSON is invited into the party- no one gets left outside for any reason

Better Together: Restored (9/11/22)

In Christ, we are RESTORED to relationship with God. This is what holds our diverse church together and makes us one. 
Our MISSION is to offer this opportunity to restoration through Christ to every person

 I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,  making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism,  one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

When you truly love someone, you will want for them more than you can give them yourself. That's where prayer comes in. God works powerfully through our prayers for one another, healing, forgiving and setting us free.

Everything that has happened in the last few years has done a number on our relationships. We've been quaratined FROM some of our closest friends and we miss them! And we've been quarantined WITH some people that we love... and could probably use a break from! We've experienced distance, disharmony and dischord on a level we've never expreienced before - and hope to never experience again!
