When it comes to learning a new skill, it helps to have someone teach you how. That is what our winter sermon series is all about! We're calling it "HOW: Spiritual Practices for Ordinary People". 
In the busyness of life, it’s easy to forget what’s most important. In the chaos of our schedules, it’s not hard to neglect what is going to give us the most life. It’s simple to sense God’s presence on Sundays. But what about Monday through Saturday? HOW do we live our faith and know God's love every day? 
That's what this series is going to be all about. We are going to explore seven different practices- sometimes called Spiritual Disciplines- that Christians have engaged in for centuries that we know have the power to grow your relationship with Jesus.

At Christmas, we're told that God has good news of great joy! But the circumstances of our lives may not be very joyful. Joy is not rooted in our circumstances. Our circumstances are rooted in joy.

The Christmas angels announced that the Savior was born to bring peace on earth. But that peace seems hard to come by. Our souls are troubled, our schedules are chaotic, our world is at war. At Christmas we remember that peace is not something that we feel. Peace is something that we do.

Advent is a season of waiting. Advent is a season of hope. We receive God's gift of hope in the present when we remember God's faithfulness in the past.

God is able to do abundantly far more in us and through us than we could ever ask or imagine. Through the missions that Knox supports, we are experiencing God doing abundantly more THROUGH us- providing warm meals to the unhoused, offering shelter to the displaced, giving counsel to the distressed- and so much more. As we consider our financial support of Knox Presbyterian Church, may we be encouraged that God is using us to make that possible!

God is able to do abundantly far more in us and through us than we could ever ask or imagine. Through the ministries of Knox, men, women, students and children are seeing God do abundantly more IN them - filling them with God's immeasurable love and changing them from the inside out.
