Birth of a King: King of Joy

Long ago, being a king meant you had total authority over your people. Kings held the power of life and death, and they controlled their nation’s army. When Israel was under Roman domination, they longed for a king to free them from tyranny, a king with the power to make things happen. It was into that world that Jesus was born, the one we know as the King of hope, the King of Joy, the King of Shalom, the King of kings!

Seek First the Kingdom: The End of the Age

We exist between the resurrection of Jesus, on one hand, and the resurrection of all the dead on the other. When Christ returns, evil will finally be permanently defeated, God's Kingdom will be fully present, and the saints will live with God forever.

Seek First the Kingdom: The Down Payment

The Kingdom of God has come in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And yet it is not present yet in its fullness. God has given the Church the Holy Spirit as a pledge of its reality. The Church exists as a 'down payment' of God's Kingdom-- to be a sign, instrument, and foretaste of it.
